thinking of the steps needed to be engaged
for a heart like his to let hers in
Wondering if there are others he’s seeing
as she dreams to be the mate for which his soul
is missing
Secretly she listens to his every word
for clues of his intentions in the future;
whether his heart is set on another
Hoping to open up and share
all her desires and needs upon his ear; she’s unsure
if another’s words already linger there
Secretly she desires to be everything he
wants “his woman” to be; she’s terrified
she is not enough to be his “one and only”
Longing to be his substance to the void
no person has ever been able to fill, she wants him
and only him to be committed to her of his own free will
Secretly she’s jealous of everything
he refuses to share and everyone else’s
imprint he subconsciously wears.
