Introspection

in her head she lives

to be free from the evils

of his flesh.

she’s aware

of the pain that accompanies

the constant breach between

her heart and his mind,

yet, her soul stays trapped

in a concept of being free

of his emotional reformatory.

in his bed she lays

to stay connected

to his flesh;

she’s attentive

to his rhetorical insinuations

for which his actions disagree;

…her mind knows

they can never be.
