OVERDUE

where my actions exemplify

not what my heart desires,

I ask for you to forgive me.

let not my judgment in its

untimely place fold away

where I have deemed you

safe in my space.

your anger is necessary;

As I have treated you like

lions would sheep;

without a care in the world

I’ve become royalty

in betrayal and these

words can hardly

proclaim the connection

I have discovered to you

you have awakened

a whole new me that I

have been running from

in a race away from Myself

with actions that have not

spoken louder than words,

but like all things overdue

here’s my chance

to finally say…
